Argyle Street Medical Centre was established 1990 The practice is fully Doctor owned, run and AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accredited Limited) accredited. We are a comprehensive medical service close to the CBD that provides an efficient, high standard of patient care.

 

The practice:

• Is a fully bulk billed general practice that encourages continuity of patient care.
• Patients can request to see a regular doctor who will look after the needs of your whole family
• Maintains consistent short waiting times by rostering on up to 9 doctors at any one time.
• Provides many services on site, including:
  
  X-Ray, Utrasound, Pathology, Pharmacy and Registered Nurses

• Complements the services provided by other doctors in the area by caring for their patients when they are not available, and/or initiating treatment if they do not have the facilities to do so, eg plastering or suturing lacerations
• Is an alternative to waiting at the Outpatient and A/E Department of Westmead Hospital for non urgent treatment.

Our facility can:

• Provide ongoing assessments and treatment of chronic conditions e.g. daily dressings, intravenous antibiotics.
• Treat acute or emergency situations. e.g. suturing lacerations, application of plaster to broken bones. Commence first line treatment/medication and observation of the patient by a Registered Nurse prior to transfer to hospital if necessary. e.g. patients with asthma or chest pain.

The Centre is opened extended hours and employs highly experienced, dedicated doctors and nurses who continually update their skills, and who have an extensive knowledge of our region, community services and Western Area Health.
